The total construction cost of the project is estimated to be 2.2 million dollars. The construction is already under way and the 25 feet deep and 50’ x 100’ basement—multipurpose gymnasium walls have already constructed. The building construction is only half completed and all funds have been used up. Funds are now desperately needed to continue the construction.

The plan was approved by New York City Buildings Department for 3-story building with a Multipurpose Gymnasium, Spacious Class Rooms and Science & Computer Labs.

Ground Breaking Ceremony

Alhamdulillah, on June 3rd 2005, Muslim Center of New York had a Ground Breaking Ceremony. In the beginning of the program Hafiz Yusuf Mulla recited Surah Alaq and then Jaan Mirza presented the translation. Afterwards, Br. Mamnoon A. Marghoob welcomed everyone. After Br. Khursheed said a few words on the importance of building Muslim school. The Hifz class came first and struck the ground with a shovel. Then, students from Muslim Center Elementary School came out to dig the ground . Everyone was digging the ground and was excited. Finally Mirza Shamsheer A. Baig concluded with Du'a.

Here is a unique opportunity that we always desired to have for our children. The expansion of the educational facilities. You will be delighted to know that we are going to construct Junior High School building.

Hopefully, InshaAllah, we will have a simple ground breaking ceremony on Friday the 3rd of June after Jummah Prayers and our Contractor, Sunab Corporation will start excavation.
